World-renowned magician Merv Standson was performing before a sold-out audience Monday when his famous â€œala ka splatâ€� trick went awry.

â€œIt was like a rainbow of pain!â€� on-lookers described the horrid scene.ï¿½ Normally, Mervâ€™s trick begins with him describing a childhood memory of a rabbit.ï¿½ The rabbit will generally jump out of his coat and with the magic words â€œala ka splatâ€� the rabbit will fly off stage.ï¿½ The trick did not go as planned this time.

â€œI spoke the magic words.ï¿½ Instead of the rabbit flying there was an unusual puff of smoke.ï¿½ Pyro says they didnâ€™t set it up so I can only assume that the rabbit had this planned all along,â€� Merv said.ï¿½ The events that transpired were one of sheer terror for the audience.ï¿½ When the smoke cleared, the rabbit had been replaced with a pile of fish sticks, burned on the outside and frozen on the inside, of course.ï¿½ And the rabbit appeared in the audience.ï¿½ There was some initial applause until the rabbit began gnawing on peopleâ€™s faces.

Animal control was unable to subdue the animal, and the rabbit is still on the loose.ï¿½ Police have an APB on the bunny, but so far police have few leads.
